Simone Inzaghi notes how ‘important’ Federico Dimarco is to Inter on his return in the Champions League quarter-final. ‘We respect Bayern Munich, but do not fear them.’
It kicks off at San Siro at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).
Whoever wins this tie will go on to face Barcelona in the semi-finals.
The first leg was a dramatic late 2-1 victory sealed by Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi, ending a 22-match Bayern Munich unbeaten home run in the Champions League.
However, the German giants pointed out they have won all four previous meetings with Inter at San Siro, so is that worrying?
“No, we know that we are facing a great team that we respect, but do not fear,” Inzaghi told Amazon Prime Video Italia.
“We’ve got to build on the first leg with pace, aggression and unity. We need a great performance against a top opponent.”

There is only one change from the starting XI in Munich, as Dimarco returns from injury to take over on the left flank from Carlos Augusto.
“We all know how important Dimarco is for us. Carlos Augusto had a great performance in Munich too,” noted Inzaghi.
“I made few changes, because I was able to balance out the energy spent in Serie A against Cagliari. We have full faith in ourselves for this match.”
It has been a rainy evening in Milan, but the weather report points to the situation calming down.
“It’s part of the game, I hope that the weather is favourable so that we get a good game of football.”
Inter are hoping to reach their second Champions League semi-final in three years, having narrowly lost the Final to Manchester City in 2023.
Inzaghi was asked if we will see the ‘demon’ version of him this evening.
“We hope so…”
