Inter continue to push forward. The special kit dedicated to Valentino Rossi paired perfectly with the accelerations of Inzaghi’s team, who took the lead with a brilliant goal from Arnautovic, doubled their advantage through a delicate dink from Lautaro (who is on the verge of scoring for the 150th time in an Inter shirt) and, after Cagliari had made it 2-1, sealed the match through a bullet header from Bisseck. On matchday 32 in Serie A, it was a strong team performance that also featured some alert goalkeeping by Sommer, a goal-line clearance from de Vrij ten minutes before the end and some lovely Nerazzurri football.

72 GOALS IN SERIE A

The Nerazzurri's attacking strength is also reflected in the numbers. The 72 goals Inzaghi's men have scored are a testament to the quality of the team's play going forward. Inter, who have the best attack in the league, have surpassed the 70-goal mark after 32 Serie A matches for only the third time in the last 60 years, after 2021/22 (71) and last season (77). Furthermore, the Nerazzurri have found the net in each of their last 38 home fixtures in Serie A; only Lille (39) have a longer ongoing streak in the Top 5 European leagues.

LAUTARO'S CONSISTENCY

The Nerazzurri captain also got on the scoresheet against Cagliari, beating Caprile with a lovely dink from a brilliant Arnautovic assist. Lautaro has become the first player to reach at least 15 goal involvements in each of the past six Serie A seasons (twelve goals and three assists in 2024/25) and the first non-Italian to score more than ten goals against Cagliari in Serie A (eleven).

ARNA IN TOP FORM AND BISSECK'S POWER

A goal, an assist, and quality and technique in abundance: Marko Arnautovic was the MVP in the win at San Siro. The Austrian striker has become the first Inter player to score in at least four consecutive home matches in Serie A since Lautaro Martínez did so between April and September 2023. Furthermore, for the first time in his career, the Austrian both found the net and provided an assist in a single Serie A match. While Arnautovic opened the scoring and brilliantly set up Lautaro for Inter's second, Bisseck sealed the game with a powerful header - his second goal this Serie A campaign. The German has now equalled his total from his debut top-flight season (two goals in 2023/24).

ASSIST PROVIDERS

Inter's opening goal arrived following a ball over the top from Calhanoglu and a chestdown by Carlos Augusto, who once again set up a teammate to score after his assist against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. It means the Brazilian has provided an assist in two consecutive matches in all competitions for the first time since doing so for Monza (vs. Juventus and Sampdoria in Serie A) between January and February 2023. The Nerazzurri's third, meanwhile, came from a Federico Dimarco corner. Inter's No.32 now has seven assists to his name this Serie A season, a personal record in a single top-flight campaign and more than any other Italian in 2024/25.
