Inter Milan striker Martin Satriano is reportedly refusing to rejoin Brest, as he would like to play his football in Spain this season.

The Uruguayan has been on the Nerazzurri’s books since making the move from Nacional in January 2020.

The Montevideo native proved himself at the youth level but was never able to make his breakthrough with the senior team.

The management sent the 23-year-old on loan to Stade Brestois and then Empoli to earn some valuable experience. However, the results weren’t too thrilling.

Last season, he had a second loan spell with Brest, which proved to be a considerable improvement on its predecessors.

Satriano played an important role in what was a memorable campaign for the French club. Brest managed to reach the Champions League after finishing third in Ligue 1.

Therefore, the Pirates are keen to maintain the Uruguayan’s services ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Brest have already reached an accord with Inter over a transfer. The Italian champions agreed to sell the striker for 6 million euros in addition to bonuses. After all, the player isn’t part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans for this campaign.

But as Il Corriere dello Sport (via FcInterNews) explains, the French side is still struggling to convince Satriano to sign for them.

Inter Milan Striker Martin Satriano Prefers Spain Move Over Brest Return

The Roman newspaper reveals that the Uruguay international doesn’t fancy playing in France for another year.

Instead, he would like to test his skills in La Liga this term, so he continues to await offers from Spain.

This situation doesn’t exactly suit Inter who are eager to sell the player as soon as possible and raise some transfer funds.

So it remains to be seen if Brest will find a way to convince Satriano to rejoin their ranks.
