Beppe Marotta says Inter Milan believe they can win four trophies this season, and that it’s an “urban legend” he stopped Fabio Paratici from going to AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri President spoke at the “Il Foglio a San Siro” even, as reported by FCInterNews.

Inter Milan are very much in the running across all competitions at the moment.

The Nerazzurri are three points clear of Napoli at the summit of the Serie A table as things stand.

And Inter have second legs to come in the Coppa Italia against AC Milan and in the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, at the end of the season Inter will play in the Club World Cup. They will be one of two Italian teams in the expanded format of the competitions, along with Juventus.,

Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta declared that “we’re happy to be in the running at this point in different competitions.”

“This is what we were aiming for,” he added.

“Then, it’s clear that we have an obligation to believe in it until the end.”

“But I’d like to say one thing here in public,” the Nerazzurri President went on. “We won in Munich, but we haven’t won anything yet.”

“There’s still the second leg to come. And experience tells us that the result can be turned upside down in an instant.”

“We have to have the same determination that we did in the first leg,” Marotta made clear.

The Inter President commented that “we deservedly brought home the win.”

“Now we have the second leg and we’re the favourites,” he added. “The roles are reversed.”

“But in the meantime, we can’t forget about the match against Cagliari,” Marotta said. “It will be a big match.”

“Maybe on paper it’s an easy match. But only on paper.”

“There will be plenty of problems,” the Inter President said of facing Cagliari.

“We’re trying to drill into our players the idea that the way they played in Munich, they also have to play on Saturday.

Meanwhile. the Inter President firmly denied rumours that he intervened to stop former Juventus associate Fabio Paratici, with whom he had a famous falling out, from becoming AC Milan’s new Sporting Director.

“That’s another Milan urban legend,” Marotta insisted.

“How could anyone think that I could have had influence over the owner of Milan, or the CEO?”

“They obviously don’t care about what I think. What is the accusation?”

Marotta then joked that “I’d be happy if Paratici went to Milan – because I’d be even more pissed off, and it would just be even more motivation for me.”
