Inter Milan misfit Martin Satriano is reportedly on the verge of returning to Ligue 1, with Lens pushing to complete his loan arrival.

According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, as reported by FCInterNews, the clubs will intensify negotiations in the coming hours.

Despite rejecting an approach from Brest, the 23-year-old’s future seemingly lies in France.

Even Olympique Marseille tried to lure the Uruguayan back to Ligue 1 in the past few days.

However, Lens seem to be close to hijacking Marseille’s attempt.

Les Sang et Or are keen to sign the former Nacional Montevideo forward on loan with an option to buy.

The clause would become mandatory under specified conditions.

Inter have been actively searching for suitors after Simone Inzaghi ruled Satriano out of his project.

Brest hoped to bring the player back to the Stade Stade Francis-Le Ble following a decent season-long loan last term.

Despite helping the club qualify for the Champions League against the odds, Satriano rebuffed Les Pirates’ offer last week.

On the other hand, Marseille and Lens have emerged as more attractive landing spots.

Lens’ interest in Satriano has come out of the blue. But it’s not unfounded.

Will Still’s side sold star striker Elye Wahi to Marseille earlier in the summer.

As a result, there’s a gap in the front third, which they hope to fill with the Inter outcast.

Negotiations are progressing quickly, and the deal could come through in the coming hours.

Cutting Satriano loose is among Inzaghi’s priorities.

But, he must trim his bloated frontline first. Satriano is the first name on the chopping block, accompanied by Joaquin Correa.

Unfortunately for Inter, the Argentine seems reluctant to leave.
