Inter Milan would be open to allowing defender Marko Arnautovic to join Torino during the January transfer window.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri would not cover any of the Austrian’s wages, however.
Torino have made signing a striker their priority for the January transfer window.
The Granata are still reeling from the loss of Duvan Zapata.
The former Atalanta and Napoli will miss all or most of the rest of the season while recovering from a serious knee injury.
And since Zapata went out injured, Torino’s form has dropped off similarly.
Therefore, the Piedmontese club are in search of a striker with a similar profile to the Colombian.
Tuttosport confirm that one of the main targets for Torino would be Inter striker Arnautovic.
The 35-year-old has plenty of Serie A experience between the Nerazzurri and Bologna.
And Arnautovic has a similar style of play to Zapata. He is an imposing physical presence who can provide a focal point in attack in addition to goals.
According to Tuttosport, Inter would consider letting Arnautovic join Torino.
And the newspaper suggest that the Nerazzurri wouldn’t even necessarily demand a transfer fee.
However, Tuttosport report, Inter certainly would not cover any of Arnautovic’s wages.
And the €3.5 million net per season that the former West Ham United and Stoke City striker earns with Inter would not be feasible for Torino.
But if Arnautovic were to lower his wage demands to around €1.7 million, then a deal could become feasible for the Granata.
