Inter Milan are eyeing up Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera as a lower-cost alternative to Giovanni Leoni.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan will have to make a major defensive signing this summer. That much is clear.
The Nerazzurri are contending with the uncertain futures of aging duo Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.
Meanwhile, there would also be the possibility that Yann Bisseck leaves Inter this summer.
Therefore, Inter certainly need a succession plan in place at the back.

Inter Milan have made Parma defender Giovanni Leoni a top target at the back,
At just eighteen years of age, Leoni has fully convinced the Nerazzurri of his quality. Therefore, he would ideally fit the profile of a player who can grow into the defense in years to come.
However, Parma will hardly allow Leoni to leave for cheap. The Gazzetta report that the Emilians want a fee of at least €30 million for the teenage defender.
On the other hand, 20-year-old Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera’s situation is different.
As things stand, the Spaniard is only under contract with Valencia until the end of next June.
Therefore, if Cristhian Mosquera does not sign an extension then Los Che will have to sell him this summer to cash in, or else risk losing him for free next summer.
Accordingly, Inter would expect to be able to negotiate a lower fee for the 20-year-old.
