Inter Milan are in the driver’s seat to sign Marseille winger Luis Henrique, as Bayern Munich have cooled their interest.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Nerazzurri are now working to lower Marseille’s €30 million asking price.
It is now certainly no secret that Inter Milan are keen on the signature of Marseille winger Luis Henrique.
The Brazilian is a player who the Nerazzurri see as a perfect backup for Denzel Dumfries.
Henrique has the pace and technical quality to be more than just a deputy for Dumfries. He could also compete for the starting spot, and replace the Dutchman in the long term.
And Henrique’s arrival would also allow the stalwart Matteo Darmian to take on more of a “wild card” role. The 35-year-old’s wingback duties would be phased out and he could play mainly in defense.

Inter Milan have been in talks with Marseille for a few weeks now. They have been working to lay the groundwork for Henrique’s arrival this summer.
One of the Nerazzurri’s main obstacles to signing Luis Henrique has looked to be the interest of Bayern Munich.
However, reports the Gazzetta, the Bavarians have cooled their interest significantly.
Therefore, the newspaper reports, Inter are now the team with the strongest interest in signing Henrique.
Marseille want at least €30 million to sell the 23-year-old. However, Inter are now working to lower those demands.
Therefore, the transfer fee would be the focus of subsequent negotiations between Inter and Marseille.
