Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta is hoping that after Juventus were hit with a ten-point deduction in the Serie A tables and the Bianconeri agreed a plea bargain, the ongoing legal controversy surrounding the Turin-based club can be put in the past.

Speaking at the release of the autobiography of Monza and former AC Milan director Adriano Galliani, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri CEO gave his thoughts on the Juventus situation, and also thanked Galliani for his support in the Champions League final.

The situation surrounding Juventus’s legal troubles has been something of a dark cloud over Serie A in recent weeks.

There has been much uncertainty surrounding matters as simple as where the Bianconeri sit in the table.

Juventus had been hit with a fifteen-point deduction over alleged capital gains fraud. However, this was then rescinded. And then, the deduction was reinstated last week, but at ten points instead of fifteen.

Then, today the Bianconeri agreed a plea deal regarding the other legal controversy they’ve been facing. Namely, the issue of undeclared wage payments during the pandemic.

These controversies have naturally aroused plenty of animosity along the lines of Italian football rivalries.

For his part, however, Inter CEO Marotta is hoping that all of it can be put in the past.

The Nerazzurri executive, who spent almost a decade at Juventus, does not want these issues to drag on forever.

Marotta: Juventus Legal Controversies In The Past Now, Time To Move On

Asked about the situation surrounding the Bianconeri, Marotta replied that “It’s a situation I don’t want to go into because it seems clear and obvious to me that it was all decided on today.”

“It’s a page that’s been turned, now let’s move on with optimism.”

And, when Galliani wished him and Inter luck in the Champions League final against Manchester City, Marotta said that “We’re bound by a relationship of mutual respect.”

“The fact that he’s behind us gives me a lot of pride and pleasure,” he continued.

“I’ve rooted for him on many occasions,” the Inter CEO noted of Galliani. “I’m glad you’re rooting for me this time.”
