Inter consider Kristjan Asllani to have a very important role in the team for the future, although how things develop for him could be very much related to whether Marcelo Brozovic is to stay at the club.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 20-year-old is felt to have the potential to develop into a top-level midfielder and a first-choice starter, and could even be the main backup in holding midfield if Brozovic were to leave in the summer.

So far this season, Asllani has found that his playing time at Inter has been relatively limited, after having joined from Empoli during the summer transfer window.

However, this is in no way a reflection of a lack of faith in the player from the staff and directors at the Nerazzurri.

According to the Gazzetta, the feeling remains that the potential is there for Asllani to have a key role in the team.

With the departure of Roberto Gagliardini set for the end of the season, and also the potential return of Giovanni Fabbian from loan with Reggina, it is not exactly clear what the future of the Nerazzurri’s midfield will look like.

However, the Gazzetta notes, there is a possibility that Brozovic could be sold, and if this were to happen, then the Albanian would be trusted as the main backup to Hakan Calhanoglu.
