Inter Milan have asked Kristjan Asllani to leave this summer, and are annoyed with the midfielder for digging in his heels.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Albanian international Kristjan Asllani has been at Inter Milan for three years now. The Nerazzurri signed him from Empoli in the summer of 2022.
During that time, Asllani has never really managed to cement a place for himself in the starting eleven.
It is not as though the Albanian has not had chances. On the contrary, he has had playing time over all of his three seasons in an Inter shirt.
However, the Nerazzurri don’t feel that Asllani has developed to the level they’d expected when they paid a €14 million for him three years ago.
Therefore, Asllani is not a player who Inter consider to be a part of their plans going forward. Particularly since coach Cristian Chivu is planning to switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation, where Asllani would be surplus to requirements in a well-stocked midfield.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, therefore, Inter have asked Kristjan Asllani to accept a departure from the club.
Chivu himself has personally spoken to the player. He has told him that he does not see him as having much of a role, and doesn’t plan to count on him in midfield.
Asllani is 23 years of age, and has three years of experience at a big club under his belt. Therefore, Inter feel that there will hardly be any difficulty for the Albanian to relaunch his career elsewhere.
But so far, Asllani has not appeared too keen on a transfer away from Inter.
On the contrary, the Corriere report, the Albanian does not want to leave for another club outside of Serie A.
Therefore, Asllani has rejected interest from Europa Conference League finalists Real Betis.
And this is starting to annoy Inter, the Corriere report. The Nerazzurri want Asllani to accept his situation so that they can move him on, and bring in a fee for him to reinvest in other signings.
