Inter boss Simone Inzaghi is predicting a hard-fought Coppa Italia semi-final against AC Milan, with another two derby meetings now confirmed.
Milan confirmed their place in the semis three weeks ago with a 3-1 victory over Roma, which came thanks to a brace from Tammy Abraham and a goal from debutant Joao Felix. Then, Inter set up the derby as Marko Arnautovic and Hakan Calhanoglu scored in a 2-0 win over Lazio.
It means that the Rossoneri and the Nerazzurri will play their fourth and fifth derbies of the season, after Milan won the first league game 2-1 and the Supercoppa final 3-2, then the 1-1 draw earlier in the month in the reverse Serie A fixture.
Inzaghi spoke to Inter TV after the win over Lazio and he was asked about the prospect of facing off against the city rivals two more times this season.
“An intense double challenge is expected against Milan, we will play it with the objective of reaching the final in Rome. Now, however, we must think game by game, we will have to try to recover strength and energy because we will need everyone,” he said (via MilanPress).
The dates and times for the two games have not been fixed yet, but leg one is expected to be in early April with Milan the designated home side, then the second leg three weeks later.
