Todd Boehly is ready to spend millions to invest and revamp Chelsea’s Cobham training ground, according to reports.

Since the £4.25 billion takeover by the Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership last summer, Chelsea have spent over £600 million on new signings and now they are ready to spend a considerable amount of money on their training ground.

Despite the new signings being acquired, Chelsea’s performances and results haven’t improved since October. Graham Potter‘s side have won just three of their last 17 appearances in all competitions, which has seen the morale in the squad go flat and the Blues fall down to 10th in the Premier League.

Defender Ben Chilwell admitted last week: “It’s not good enough. We need to win these games.

“It’s a pretty flat dressing room at the moment. The only people that can turn it around is ourselves.”

Despite the poor activity on the pitch, Boehly and the hierarchy are making movements to improve the players’ environment off the pitch at the training ground.

Andy Dillon of The Sun, Boehly and Potter overseeing a multi-million-pound upgrade of Chelsea’s training complex, including a ‘luxury chillout room’, along with the gym, pool and rehab centre.

Potter wants the whole area to be more ‘flowing’ to allow the Chelsea players to feel happier and more relaxed when they come into work.

The players currently have nowhere to go and hang around the medical centre before training starts.

However, although their is focus on this project, which includes improving facilities for the women’s team, the short-term priority remains improving the mood and form on the pitch.
