The first month of the new season has been a difficult one for Real Madrid as they have managed just two wins in four La Liga matches thus far while losing several players to injury already.

Eduardo Camavinga was the first player to hit the infirmary, picking up a knee injury just before the UEFA Super Cup clash against Atalanta.

It has been suggested that Camavinga’s recovery has been progressing well, leading to speculations that an early return might be on the cards for the Frenchman.

Camavinga to be back in early October

However, as per the latest update from AS, Camavinga is only expected to make a comeback from his injury in the early periods of October.

The 21-year-old former Rennes wonderkid suffered the knee injury in training a day before the Super Cup encounter after a strong challenge from his club and country teammate Aurelien Tchouameni.

Initial reports put Camavinga’s recovery period for about two months but recently it was suggested that he could be back by September end as his recovery had been progressing very well.

But, AS insists that the 21-year-old midfield ace will only be back in early October and will miss Real Madrid’s remaining matches in the month of September.

What about the others?

As reported earlier today, Camavinga’s fellow midfielder Jude Bellingham is pushing hard to return for this weekend’s clash against Real Sociedad but is facing a race against time to do so.

Ferland Mendy, who withdrew from the France squad last week due to a minor issue, is expected to be fit for the weekend clash but doubts linger around Aurelien Tchouameni’s availability.

Dani Ceballos is out for a period of six to eight weeks while Eder Militao is expected to be sidelined for a period of around ten days after picking up an injury last week with Brazil.
