Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has not given up on the season just yet, as the experienced right-back, who suffered a serious knee injury in October, is pushing hard to make a return in time for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

The defender has been out of action since damaging his right knee, including the ACL, external collateral ligament, and popliteal tendon. Since then, he has been undergoing a tough and steady recovery process.

Despite the long spell on the sidelines, Carvajal remains hopeful. Speaking to El Chiringuito (h/t Mundo Deportivo) outside Valdebebas, he shared his thoughts on his current condition.

“Little by little, really,”  he said. “You have to be patient with this. I’m happy with how it’s going. I’m working very hard, and above all, we hope to return and that when I return, I’m well.”

This mindset is typical of Carvajal, known for his grit and commitment on and off the pitch. His potential return could be one of Real Madrid’s biggest boosts before the end of the season.

Club World Cup comeback could be huge for Real Madrid

Real Madrid will begin their FIFA Club World Cup journey on June 18 against Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.

With the tournament being the first edition in its new format, the club is eager to make a mark, and Carvajal could play a key role if he’s fit in time.

The coaching situation is still uncertain, but Carvajal’s comeback might help settle things in defence. His presence brings not only stability at the back but also experience that’s vital in knockout competitions.

Both the player and the club remain hopeful that he will be ready by mid-June. If everything goes well, Carvajal’s return could feel like a new signing, just when Real Madrid need it most.
