Harvey Elliott linked with Liverpool exit

An avowed Liverpool fan, there is no doubt the 22-year-old would love to become a Reds legend in his own right. However, that is looking increasingly unlikely.

The England under-21 star has got Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai ahead of him in the pecking order for his preferred positions and there is now Wirtz to contend with.

Having made only TWO Premier League starts last season - none before the Premier League title was wrapped up - Elliott has seen his game time restricted considerably.

He served a reminder of his class during the recent UEFA Euro Under-21 tournament - won by England - where he scored five times and brought home the player of the tournament award.

Right now he has got suitors in the Premier League - including the likes of Newcastle and Chelsea - as well as in Germany in the shape of RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.

Whoever wins the race for Elliott now knows the asking price. According to a new report from David Ornstein in the Athletic, Liverpool want AT LEAST £40m for Elliott.

He will cost that much for buying clubs so long as they agree to a buyback clause. If not, then the price rises to £50m.
