Palmer shone under Pochettino scoring 22 Premier League goals and providing 11 assists as he was named Premier League Young Player of the Year, and he will be hoping for more of the same under Maresca.

Palmer believes Maresca is a really good coach

The 22-year-old, who is currently with the England squad at Euro 2024 preparing for Sunday’s last 16 clash with Slovakia has worked with Maresca before.

Palmer played under Maresca at the Manchester City academy and was part of the side that won the Premier League 2 title, with Romeo Lavia also part of that team.

The England international described Maresca as a really good coach and revealed that he was the person to first play him on the right hand side.

Palmer has previously worked under Maresca in the Manchester City academy.

“Enzo was the one who put me at right-wing,” Palmer told The Telegraph.

“So from the (under) 18s I was playing (number) 10 and when I went to the 23s Enzo played me on the right.

“That was my first full season on the right. He’s a good coach, a really good coach. I think tactically he knows what he is doing. He will improve a lot of the players.”
