The young wideman has been a terrific asset to have in the blue and white stripes over the last two seasons, breaking through under Carlos Corberan last term after a previous loan spell away with Crawley Town in League Two.

Showcasing his talents on the second tier stage, the 21-year-old had to bide his time before starting regularly, finding his feet towards the beginning of 2024 with goals against Blackburn Rovers, Ipswich Town, Plymouth Argyle and Bristol City between February and March.

The Albion academy graduate would go on to produce four goals and three assists from 33 games as the Baggies were edged out over two legs by Southampton in the play-off semi-final.

Fellows has continued to grow and hit the ground running at the beginning of this season, registering five assists in the opening seven games of the term.

Another purple patch would follow between November and the end of December, recording five assists and scoring against promotion-chasing Sheffield United.

This leaves Fellows in double figures for assists during the campaign, becoming one of Albion’s most creative outlets on the right flank, and leading to interest from Premier League duo Brighton and Everton over the winter transfer window.

With the tricky winger only set to improve further with more gametime, Football League World compares Fellows’ weekly wage at West Brom with some of the best other wingers in the Championship.

To stress, all salary figures quoted in this article are estimates from Capology.

According to Capology, Tom Fellows is earning just £6,000 a week at The Hawthorns, ranking as the 22nd highest paid player at the club.

Taking up a very small portion of the £421,231 figure that Albion pay weekly on their playing squad, Fellows earns £312,000 a year, which again is a low cost for a team spending close to £22 million annually on player salaries.

With his contract running through until 2027, the 21-year-old is set to receive £936,000 from the club if he completes the remainder of his deal.

In comparison, some of the top wingers in the Championship have also had their wages estimated by Capology.

Leeds United wideman Dan James is estimated to be £50,000 a week, while fellow winger and Spurs loanee Manor Solomon is reportedly on £60,000 a week.

At the other promotion contending clubs, Championship top scorer Borja Sainz is believed to be on £15,000 per week at Norwich City, while the shock addition of loanee Marcus Edwards to Burnley sees the winger earn £22,500 every week.

According to these figures, all of the better wingers in the second tier are earning more money per week than Fellows, despite the Baggies' academy graduate recording similar attacking contributions.

Tom Fellows has been in sensational form on the right flank so far this season for West Brom, reaching double figures for assists and being a key cog in the Albion attacking line.

With the majority of Albion’s goals coming from the crosses of the Solihull-man, he has surely done enough to earn a much higher salary and have it be in the same range as other top Championship wingers.
