That sentence couldn't be applied to the R's for much of the last few years but the emergence of Marti Cifuentes as one of the top new managers in the second tier should help them to steer clear of another relegation battles.

In the 2024 section of the previous campaign, QPR were a play-off-level side, which is an astonishing statement given the way they started the season under Gareth Ainsworth.

Some smart recruitment in the summer has further helped their chances of remaining in the league. Karamoko Dembélé has come in and has been an instant hit, while January acquisition Michael Frey is helping to fill the void left by Lyndon Dykes.

This was a team that was once a pain to watch. Now they are often a joy if you are in the stands at Loftus Road - a ground which talkSPORT's Adrian Durham named as the second best of the 92 English and Welsh professional teams.

But, if you want to go to the W12 stadium on a consistent basis, how much would it cost you?

FLW has looked at how much the cheapest season ticket at QPR's home will set you back, and how it compares to the rest of the Championship teams.

To watch all of the home league games played at Loftus Road, the cheapest adult season ticket you could get was £252, according to Birmingham Live. That works out at just under £11 per game; a very reasonable rate for a second-tier side.

This number is for those who were renewing their season tickets. The cheapest one for somebody who wasn't renewing their season ticket was £290 for adults.

That figure is a £10 increase from the cheapest season ticket from the previous season (£242). Again, this was for supporters who were renewing.

Of the 24 Championship sides, QPR's £252 season ticket is the second cheapest. The only team that offers a season ticket at a better rate than them in the division is Coventry City.

The Sky Blues offered a season ticket which was only slightly cheaper than QPR's at £250, costing the purchaser £10.87 per game.

After City and the R's, there's quite a big jump up to the next cheapest season ticket in the second tier. Preston North End sit third in the league in this regard, offering up a £294 season ticket; £54 and £52 more than Coventry and Rangers, respectively.

At way more than double the price of QPR's cheapest season ticket, the priciest one in the second tier belongs to Middlesbrough.

The cheapest season ticket that Teesside supporters could get was £574. That works out as being 2.2 times more expensive than the one offered by the Loftus Road residents.

Sheffield Wednesday's least expensive season costs the second most in the league, setting attendees back £250. Again, that is comfortably more than twice the price of QPR's cheapest.
