Igor Tudor’s Juventus contract was automatically extended after the Bianconeri qualified for the Champions League, but the club can terminate the agreement by paying €1m.

Tudor’s contract with Juventus was automatically extended until June 2026 last night after the Bianconeri’s 3-2 win in Venezia and their subsequent qualification for the 2025-26 Champions League.

Club director Cristiano Giuntoli reiterated that the coach would remain in charge for the Club World Cup, but Tudor suggested otherwise during last night’s post-match interviews.

The Croatian tactician said he would not take charge of the team during this summer’s competition if the Old Lady has already decided to change coach for next season.

Multiple sources, including Gianluca Di Marzio, report that Tudor’s contract was automatically extended for one more season after reaching the Champions League target.

However, the club can terminate the agreement by paying €1m.

Tudor said last night that his future would be known in the coming days, before the beginning of the Club World Cup.

Tudor replaced Thiago Motta in March, signing a contract until the end of the season, with an obligation to extend if he achieved a top-four finish.

Antonio Conte is seen as the favourite candidate for the Juventus job despite being under contract with Napoli until 2027.

Sky Sport Italia and other sources in Italy claim that Conte and Napoli will part ways this week.

What Tudor said about his Juventus future

“It will be known soon, not after the Club World Cup, but before.

“We were all focused on the end of the season, all the games. I didn’t even want to talk about this. Now we have the Club World Cup, but all this will be solved before that. It would not be a good idea to go there without a decision, or to make a decision [to change] but still go there with the same coach. It would not be serious for the club or the coach.”
