Igor Tyjon looks set to be departing Ewood Park for The Emirates this summer, but how much are the Gunners set to pay for the Rovers starlet?
Blackburn Rovers look set to lose highly-rated teenage striker Igor Tyjon to Arsenal this summer.
The 17-year-old joined Rovers from Rochdale in the summer of 2023, and has been turning heads in the club's academy system ever since.
Tyjon has represented both Poland and England at youth international level, and appears to have a very bright future ahead of him.
However, it appears that Blackburn's chances of retaining his services beyond the summer transfer window are slim, as journalist Alan Nixon reporting via his Patreon has revealed that Arsenal are preparing to lodge a bid for him.
So, how much are the Gunners set to pay for Tyjon? Football League World investigates...
As per Nixon's report on 1 June, Arsenal have identified Blackburn's Tyjon as a summer transfer target, with the Gunners now actively working on a deal to bring him to North London.
It's stated that Arsenal would be prepared to pay a guaranteed sum of over £1m to capture the teenager's signature, with add-ons sure to be included as part of any deal.
Blackburn were able to fend off Premier League interest in Tyjon last summer, as the club signed him to a two-year scholarship deal.
Manchester United were reportedly one of those top flight clubs who were keen on bringing him to Old Trafford at the time, as were Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, Tyjon opted to remain at Ewood Park in the hopes of breaking into Blackburn's first-team side in 2024/25. However, that proved challenging for him.
He made just two Championship appearances last season, with substitute appearances against Sunderland and Bristol City respectively, totalling just six minutes of second tier football to his name in 2024/25.
As they've proved emphatically in recent years, Blackburn Rovers have proven themselves to be one of the best EFL clubs for young players to develop and progress into first-team stars.
Adam Wharton, David Raya, Lewis Travis, Ashley Phillips, Hayden Carter, John Buckley, Scott Wharton, Joe Rankin-Costello; those are just some of the players which have progressed through Rovers' academy system into the senior side at Ewood Park.
A number of those names such as Wharton and Raya made big-money moves to the Premier League off the back of being handed the chance to shine for Blackburn, and judging from Tyjon's previous comments, he's well aware of the proven pathway for young players at Ewood Park.
Speaking via the Lancashire Telegraph after signing his aforementioned scholarship with the club last summer, Tyjon said: "It feels very nice, I am very happy to sign it.
"I am loving it at the moment. I came here a year ago and I got the opportunity to train for the first-team. I've started this pre-season well too with the first team and I hope that carries on.
"I've been in the 16s, 18s, 21s and the first team. I've loved every single minute of it, it's built my confidence up and I'm at the stage where I wanted to get the first team. I want to start playing regularly.
"It's a massive part of the reason I came here, how many examples there are of players who have done well over the years. Adam Wharton, from the Academy to the first team. That's what drove me to the football club.
"The pathway is brilliant here and it plays a huge part in bringing through new prospects. Hopefully, I can follow the steps of those players, If I can."
Therefore, despite interest from Arsenal being potentially very tough to turn down for both Tyjon and Blackburn, the young centre-forward may not be in too much of a rush to call time on his Rovers career just yet.
