An insight into the kind of transfer fee being sought by the brass at Manchester United to part with rumoured Barcelona transfer target Marcus Rashford has on Friday been provided.

The name of attacker Rashford of course took its place front and centre in the headlines at the aforementioned Barcelona this past January.

As much came after the winger – owing to his playing characteristics and availability on loan – was identified as the ideal addition to Hansi Flick’s squad.

In the end, no such transfer was forthcoming, with Rashford having gone on to pen terms with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.

With the Claret and Blue having since made the call not to make his signing a permanent one, however, links with Barcelona have resurfaced.

The Blaugrana are understood to consider Rashford the perfect alternative to Liverpool standout Luis Díaz in their search for reinforcements out wide.

And according to Mundo Deportivo, a fee in the region of €48 million is likely to be required to pry him away from Old Trafford this summer.

This is the sum which was included in Aston Villa’s loan terms for the Englishman, expected to remain the same for Barcelona and any other interested clubs.
