This Saturday, Guadalajara will visit a venue that is known for being painted red and white every time the Rebaño visits. That's right, Chivas will head to León to kick off their 2025 Apertura campaign, and they will do so with high hopes of getting off on the right foot and reaffirming what they have shown throughout the preseason, both in terms of football and results.
In fact, the Rebaño Sagrado also opened its participation in the 2023 Apertura by visiting the home of the Panzas Verdes. That night was very special, because in addition to winning 1-2, the Rojiblanca Nation was able to see the debut of three Guadalajara youth players: Yael Padilla, Raúl Martínez, and Jesús Brigido.
If we look at the last five games between the two teams at the Nou Camp, the balance is slightly in favor of Guadalajara, as we will analyze below. As we mentioned earlier, in the five most recent matches between the Rebaño and the Esmeraldas played in León, Chivas won three and lost two.
This streak began in the 2021 Clausura, when the Rebaño beat León 1-3 on matchday 5 of the 2021 Clausura. Since then, Chivas has scored at least one goal in the last five games at that stadium, also having a favorable goal difference: nine goals for and six against.
In this way, Guadalajara is working hard to earn 3 points, start the 2025 Apertura on the right foot, and maintain its favorable record at the Esmeraldas' home stadium.
