An insight into the ongoing efforts of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona to ensure the happiness of breakthrough sensation Lamine Yamal has this week been forthcoming.

It is of course common knowledge that Deco and co. are currently working hard to add fresh quality to new head coach Hansi Flick’s squad with a view to next season.

Front and centre on the agenda is the signing of a new left winger, specifically Nico Williams, whose excellence at Euro 2024 has only seen the Blaugrana’s desire to land the Athletic Club man grow further.

And yet, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, Nico’s addition would not come purely for sporting reasons.

In addition, it would serve a purpose in keeping the aforementioned Lamine Yamal satisfied.

Williams and Lamine are known to have struck up a close bond not only on the pitch, but off it too this summer.

The pair were inseparable on their way to guiding the Spanish national team to glory at the European Championships, spotted in almost every photo alongside one another.

And, according to Relevo, as much did not go at all unnoticed behind the scenes at the Camp Nou…

‘The sporting management is working on a competitive and winning sporting project around the Rocafonda player and the possible signing of Williams is going in that direction. Barça wants to keep Lamine happy and content, and part of that plan involves signing Nico.’
