With a stunning set of bespoke jersey designs that stay true to the club’s ethos and community, USL League Two side Flatirons FC deserve a shout as one of the best looking teams in the country.
There’s been big news around the USL of late. Promotion and relegation across its three divisions in 2027 has many eager for what’s to come, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything to get excited over in the present.
One team in particular has caught our eye in League Two, the third tier of the USL pyramid.
Just over 20 miles north of Denver, tucked in the foothills of the Front Range Mountains, is Superior, Colorado, home to Flatirons FC.
The club just wrapped up its 2025 season with a pair of heartbreaking losses that took it out of playoff contention. But that’s not why we’re so interested in Flatirons FC. If it’s any consolation for the disappointing finish to the year, the team has some of the best-looking jerseys not just in the league, but in the entire country.
Made by Admiral, the kit manufacturer cooked up a set of bespoke kits in tandem with The Concept Club, and just like the last time they came together, the results are fantastic. We get a close look at each set of kits while diving into the stories behind their designs.
Inspired by the mining heritage of Superior, Admiral used a silver color scheme for the club’s home kit. Superior was once a hub for both silver and coal, and mining was the backbone of the town’s foundation.
The split half-and-half design is separated by a pattern inspired by the narrow-gauge railroad that was integral to transporting coal through the tight mountains of Superior, symbolizing the community’s resilience and pioneering spirit. On one side of the design is a diamond pattern that illustrates the lush forests that surround the town, and on the other is a mountain pattern representative of the Flatiron Mountains after which the club was named. Natural beauty will continue to be a theme throughout the entire set of Flatirons kits.
Whereas the home kit offers a more abstract homage to the Flatiron Mountains, the away kit puts the iconic range front and center. Draped in an eye-pleasing hue of purple, a bold mountain graphic is the star of the show.
Purple isn’t a shade you see on kits too often, but when it is executed correctly, it can make for an extremely memorable shirt. Flatirons FC definitely has one on its hands here.
Flatirons FC’s alternate kits stay true to the club’s colors, utilizing a navy blue base with a starlit night sky design motif. The kit has an ombre gradient that transitions from navy to slate, which extends to the mountain-imprinted shorts.
When looking at the full kit from jersey to shorts, you have a picturesque night sky over the mountains that residents of Superior are all too aware of. As an alternate kit, it does its job perfectly, differentiating itself enough from the home and away while still being true to the club’s roots and identity.
Applying a “Sunrise” and “Midnight” theme, both Admiral goalkeeper shirts for Flatirons FC are striking on their own, but when seen together, make for a wonderfully cohesive pairing.
The Sunrise shirt employs a bright orange color scheme, accented by jagged streaks of white that resemble the sun shining off the Flatirons. On the other end of the spectrum is the Midnight shirt, which goes back to the purple well for an equally beautiful design as Flatirons FC’s away kit.
Perhaps the star of the entire collection, the Midnight goalkeeper shirt gives us a dramatic graphic of Colorado’s natural beauty — the lush, dense boreal forests with trees of pine and fir, surrounded by the snow-capped Flatiron Mountains. It’s a Bob Ross landscape put onto a football shirt in the best way imaginable.
