Charlton Athletic reached the League One play-off final courtesy of a 1-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers at The Valley last night - and the Addicks' promotion push has been forged by their unbeaten home record in 2025.

The south London club entered their L1 play-off semi-final against the Chairboys after a 0-0 stalemate at Adams Park and their season hung in the balance until striker Matt Godden swooped to score their matchwinner in the 81st minute to send the Addicks to Wembley.

One of only two unbeaten teams in League One since the turn of the year alongside Birmingham (who went the entire season unbeaten on home turf), no team has won more games at home in The 92 in 2025 than Charlton (11 - level with the Blues).

Home boy Godden

Signed from Coventry City last summer, striker Godden has now plundered 19 goals in League One for Charlton this season and the 33-year-old has been on fire on his home patch this year.

With his matchwinner last night, Godden has hit 10 League One goals in 2025 - more than any player in 'The 92'.

Charlton and their on-form forward will now take on Leyton Orient in the League One play-off final on 25 May, and the game has a mouth-watering head-to-head to serve as a backdrop.

Godden now has 14 league goals in 2025 - which is more than any other player in the top four tiers except for one player: Orient's on-loan striker Charlie Kelman (17)!
