Celtic can win the SPFL Premiership next weekend after Rangers lost to Hibernian. Brendan Rodgers’ side will need to win their next two games to confirm 4IAR and the squad will be eager to get the title wrapped up before the split.

Celtic knew that they would require to win their next three games going into this weekend; however, after the result at Ibrox this afternoon, Celtic can secure the trophy next weekend – if they beat St Johnstone and Kilmarnock. If the two wins are recorded, it will be Celtic’s 13th title in 14 seasons and mark their 55th title.

The Scottish Champions travel to face St Johnstone in Perth tomorrow afternoon and Brendan and his team will be raring to get the game against the bottom club dealt with, in what will be a warmup for the Scottish Cup Semi Final at Hampden.

Dylan Levitt and Martin Boyle scored either side of half time downed Rangers, leaving the hosts embarrassed. The visitors from Easter Rd set up to frustrate Ferguson’s side using their wide options to punish Rangers. They will relish the result, which is a testament to the fine work from Hibs manager David Gray in his first season at the club. There were not many supporters remaining in Govan to administer the traditional boos as Don Robertson sounded the whistle. It is now their fifth defeat in a row at Ibrox and they will welcome Basque side Athletic Club in the coming weeks as well as Celtic.

Here’s how the BBC Sports Scotland website reported on this at the full time…

Ibrox is nearly empty as the clock ticks. The Hibs fans don’t want the afternoon to end, of course. They’re about to celebrate their first win here since February 2018, and have been chanting the names of both managers, David Gray’s in appreciation, Barry Ferguson’s in mockery. For the home boss, he has to hope his first win here will come against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League quarters. It’s a record-breaking fifth consecutive home defeat for Rangers. If Celtic beat St Johnstone tomorrow, they could clinch the title at home to Kilmarnock next Saturday. Kheredine Idessane
