Levi Colwill spoke to Chelsea TV after yesterday’s win over Fulham, and you could just tell how much the turnaround had meant to the academy product from the way he spoke and the relief on his face as well as his words:
“So happy, over the moon. It was a tough fought battle. And then to get the goal at the end… there’s been so many times this season where we’ve drawn games like that, where we’ve been on top at the end. Or even lost. So today, to get that win and to celebrate in front of the fans was amazing,” the defender explained.
“The manager made tactical tweaks [at half time], but it was more ‘we’ve got to fight for this, we’ve got to be together as a team, we’ve got to do it for the fans, and I think everyone saw that second half. When Pedro scored his goal, we were celebrating with the fans. After the game, as soon as the final whistle went we were all over the fans. And yeah it was really, really good experience to be there for the fans,” Colwill continued.

Colwill was delighted to lavish fellow academy players Tyrique George with praise after the young winger got his first Premier League goal for the club as a crucial equaliser:
“We all know how good of a player he is, to come in and score gives him a confidence boost. Hopefully he keeps pushing and he tries getting into our side, because that’s why he’s here, because he’s an amazing player. He’s not there to sit on the bench. He’s there to come on and play.”
We agree – now it’s down to Enzo Maresca. He’s seen Noni Madueke and Jadon Sancho struggling to produce in the big games – when does he start trusting Tyrique to start?
