Chelsea haven’t completely ruled out trying to sign Joao Pedro before the second registration window for the Club World Cup according to Ben Jacobs.
The Blues advanced to the quarter finals of the competition after a 4-1 win against Benfica in a crazy game which was delayed for nearly two hours due to adverse weather conditions.
Chelsea now face Brazilian side Palmeiras and Estevao Willian for a place in the semi finals, but will be without Moises Caicedo who’s suspended for Friday night’s game.
The big news before the game was Chelsea had finally reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for Jamie Gittens.
The deal is set to be worth a total package of £55m, and Gittens is believed to have already completed the first part of his medical.
Chelsea seemingly aren’t messing around and have turned their attention to signing a versatile forward, with Pedro seemingly their man.

The Blues are believed to have stepped up their interest in Pedro, whilst there’s also strong interest from Newcastle.
Chelsea reportedly had a bid in excess of £50m rejected for Pedro, and Jacobs has now provided an update on their pursuit.
He took to X.com and said:
“Chelsea haven’t entirely ruled out trying to sign Joao Pedro before the second Club World Cup registration window closes on July 3.
“Talks with Brighton ongoing with Pedro understood to be keen on the move. Chelsea content if they have to wait longer, but pushing in the next few days in case Pedro can fly out to America and potentially feature in the tournament or simply spend time with the squad.”
Despite Pedro seemingly being the main target for the versatile forward role, Chelsea have been linked with Mohammed Kudus.
