Bayern Munich steamrolled past VfB Stuttgart, beating them 3-1 to consolidate their lead atop the Bundesliga table, extending their advantage to 11 points with 10 games left. Striker Harry Kane is getting closer to his first career trophy.

Kane struggled to get a sniff against Stuttgart despite already netting 21 goals in 22 league games this term. He would have been pleased to see his teammates taking the scoring burden off him.

Bayern had the first chance of the game. However, Jamal Musiala curled wide from close range, handing impetus to their opponents, who came close through Deniz Undav before eventually taking the lead via Bayern Academy graduate Angelo Stiller.

The German international rifled a left-footed shot into the roof of the net, leaving Manuel Neuer no chance with his ferocious hit.

Unfortunately, the Stuttgart defence capitulated, handing chance after chance to Bayern. Michael Olise obliged as he pulled Bayern level with his equaliser.

A mix-up at the back allowed the much-criticised Leon Goretzka to pounce and score, turning the tables. Bayern made their dominance count when another mistake at the back saw Kingsley Coman race through before scoring into an empty net.

Bayern were rightly worried about seventh-place Stuttgart but dispatched them with ruthless efficiency. Second-placed Bayer Leverkusen have a difficult away game against Eintracht Frankfurt. Kane and Co. hope to see Die Werkself drop points in this title race as they bid to wrestle the title back.

With the Bundesliga title now within touching distance, Kane edges closer to finally ending his long wait for silverware.

While the England captain had a quiet night in front of goal, Bayern’s relentless efficiency ensured they extended their lead at the top.

With just 10 games remaining, the Bavarians have put themselves in the driving seat, piling pressure on Leverkusen to keep up.

Kane, who has endured years of near misses, will know that nothing is won yet, but with each passing game, his dream of lifting a trophy moves closer to reality.
