Gyökeres set for Arsenal medical

The transfer of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP to Arsenal is finally close to completion with the player now set for a medical.

After much back and forth between the two clubs a deal has finally been agreed and there is just the final formalities to complete.

Gyökeres is expected to arrive in London today before undergoing a medical and then officially being unveiled as an Arsenal player, with the Swede set to be given the historic #14 shirt.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping that the 27-year-old can replicate his goalscoring form in Portugal with the Gunners after the striker scored 97 goals in 102 games in all competitions for Sporting.
