Pep Guardiola says Erling Haaland couldn’t be happier after his four-goal haul against Wolves.

The Norwegian was in stellar form, scoring a first-half hat-trick and then firing a superb fourth on 54 minutes just 60 seconds Wolves had pulled a goal back.

City went on to win 5-1 to keep the pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal as this thrilling title race enters the final couple of weeks.

“Today he did it and against Nottingham Forest as well. He was injured before],” said Guardiola.

“He is so tall, so to return to top form, you need time. It’s not like Jeremy or Phil or Julian, they can be ready [quicker].

“I’m so happy for his performance and the exceptional goals he scored.

“Penalties as well, because we know how sometimes it is not easy. I’m really pleased for him.”

Haaland was substituted on 82 minutes, with the boss saying his No.9 was getting frustrated with continually being fouled by a Wolves side that conceded 17 fouls and collected four yellow cards.

Guardiola says it has become a regular occurrence for the Norwegian as defenders do all they can to quell his sizeable threat,

“There were a lot of long balls into channels that he was pulled [back] but they say it’s not foul,” he said.

“I can understand the frustration when you are being pulled at the shoulder.

“It happens every game. He was a little frustrated for these actions, but I can guarantee he is so happy today.”
