Goosebumps from Champions League throwback ahead of Group Stage kickoff

Celtic kick off their UEFA Champions League campaign this week and a video has resurfaced on social media showing the anthem before kickoff at Celtic Park. In a clip from before Celtic’s 2016 game against Manchester City, the incredible Celtic Park atmosphere was captured that will give supporters goosebumps ahead of Wednesday.

The pre-match against City will get the Celtic support excited for the UEFA Champions League opener against Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday evening. The Slovakian side scored late to win their game on Saturday. Brendan Rodgers’ side will be hoping that his side can start positively against the Pot 4 team and secure all three points from the opening game.

Celtic drew the game against Pep’s City, ending a run of ten wins since the Spaniard assumed control over the blue half of Manchester. It was a memorable game and showed that Celtic had the ability to go up against a top side. It was unfortunate that the Celts couldn’t capitalise on their impressive displays against City and go through from that group. Although, too be fair, Celtic were drawn against Barca as well as Borussia Monchengladbach.
