Newcastle United members haunted by Ghost Seats.

It has happened before and it is happening this Friday morning ahead of Newcastle v Everton.

Like countless other Newcastle United members I missed out on tickets for the last match of the season.

I got nothing in the ballot and then when the separate queue sale took place, I hate to think how many Newcastle United members failed.

My queue number was up around the 60,000 mark and with only a few thousand tickets, absolutely no chance.

Though there was one last chance. A very very small one…

After the ballot and queue sale, in the days leading up to each match season ticket holders can put their seats up for sale.

A case of keep checking the Newcastle United ticketing site, keep checking it, keep checking it and so on.

I must have done this hundreds of times this week but never seen a single ticket.

Then just after 8am this morning (Friday 23 May 2025) what is this???

Yes two seats together in the Milburn Stand, get in there!

So I clicked into that section to buy them and there they were.

I clicked onto the two seats to put them into my basket and…

….nightmare, Ghost Seats!

For those not aware, this is a common occurrence for Newcastle United members chasing tickets.

These Ghost Seats don’t actually exist.

You click on them but they start flashing and you can’t put them into your basket to buy.

This is just one of the numerous glitches on the useless Newcastle United ticketing site.

This isn’t a case of another fan getting there first and putting them in their basket.

As I say, I first saw these Ghost Seats ‘available’ at just after 8am and having just checked, these exact same Ghost Seats are still showing at 9am (ED: Still showing at 9.30am as this article goes up).

I dread to think of just how many other desperate Newcastle United members who have been doing the same as me this morning. The worst possible tease as your hopes are raised of tickets for Sunday, only to be then smashed.
