For many lovers of the sport, there are few bigger occasions than the clashes between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Ultimately, it is regarded by many as the biggest rivalry in club football across the world. This time around, however, the way Barcelona dealt with Los Blancos hardly made it seem like one.

A 4-0 thrashing at the Santiago Bernabeu saw La Blaugrana prevail over Real Madrid in front of their home fans. Not exactly a score that is too new to Los Blancos, given that Barcelona have won by the same scoreline at the Bernabeu in the past as well, but it is still a statement win nonetheless.

Understandably, many huge reactions to the game have surfaced following the full-time whistle. This includes both neutrals and direct supporters as well, which also happens to include former players of the two teams in question.

One of the more notable reactions to this particular game, however, has come from none other than Gerard Pique. The former Barcelona and Spanish National team defender, a player known for always engaging in heated arguments with anyone related to Real Madrid, ended up taking a dig at Los Blancos, as highlighted by SPORT:

“We’re unique; they’ll never be like us. With all the young talents from La Masia. What a performance. What pride.”

Having been a product of La Masia himself, Pique made sure to rub the fact in that Real Madrid’s team of superstars and ‘Galácticos’ ended up losing embarrassingly to a team full of young talents and prospects for the future. Known for his rather mischievous nature, Pique’s words will likely not go down too well with the Real Madrid fans and related individuals.

However, even before the game, it is rather interesting to know that Pique was one of the few people who got the scoreline prediction spot-on. Having predicted that Barcelona would win by four goals to nil, it is rather bizarre to see that the Spaniard’s prediction ended up coming true exactly as he made it.
