This was a title to represent FSG's ambitions to create a multi-club football in the game that would ultimately benefit Liverpool in terms of recruitment.

Fast forward over a year since Edwards' return and FSG haven't bought their football club just yet. But they seem to be closing in on it.

According to a recent report from TBR Football, FSG have identified Getafe as the perfect acquisition and they have already entered talks.

In fact the site claims that some sources have even suggested that FSG have struck an 'agreement in principle' to buy the Spanish club.

The report also claims that the deal would be worth around £200m and it would massively impact Liverpool when it comes to the club's ability to recruit players.

This much is definitely true. We've seen over the last few years how much Brighton have benefited from the multiple club model.

So many of their current stars like Kaoru Mitoma or Simon Adingra spent time at Union SG, which is also part-owned by Tony Bloom.

The same applies to Chelsea, who have been able to attract a plethora of talent to their BlueCo owned Strasbourg.

Meanwhile, Red Bull clubs like RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg have a regular production line of talent going back and forth between the two sides.

A great example of that is Dominik Szoboszlai.

With Getafe if the deal is ultimately agreed, FSG's ambitions will be to do the same. They will want to recruit the best talent, develop them in Spain and ultimately create a new pathway to Liverpool, while also making sure Getafe continue to be successful and reach new heights.
