Freiburg linked with departing Werder defender | OneFootball

After leaving Werder Bremen on a free transfer, Anthony Jung could be set to continue his Bundesliga career at another club.

According to Bild, SC Freiburg have emerged as a potential destination for the experienced and versatile defender, who was not offered a contract extension by Werder.

At Freiburg, Jung could fill the gap left by Manuel Gulde, who recently retired from professional football.

The Breisgau side have already been active in the transfer market this week, announcing three attacking signings: Cyriaque Irié (from Troyes), Yuito Suzuki (from Brøndby), and Derry Scherhant (from Hertha BSC).

Jung joined Werder from Brøndby in January 2021 and went on to make 130 appearances for the club, contributing six goals and seven assists during his time at the Weserstadion.
