West Ham United striking target Alexander Sorloth wants to leave Atletico Madrid after falling out with manager Diego Simeone, according to Spanish journalist Jose Ignacio Fernandez.

The Hammers were keen on bringing the Norwegian international to the London Stadium club last summer, but he left Villarreal for Atletico instead.

Sorloth scored 26 goals in 2023-24 and followed that with 24 goals in the subsequent season for Atletico, but he now wants to leave.

The 29-year-old played 35 La Liga games last term, but started 15. He wants to play regularly elsewhere.

The West Ham target started the new season on the bench, playing just eight minutes as Espanyol defeated Atletico 2-1 on Sunday.

The Hammers also started the campaign with a 3-0 loss to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, and manager Graham Potter needs another striker.

Atletico want €35 million for Sorloth, and West Ham should not miss out on the opportunity.

They signed Callum Wilson for free after he left Newcastle United, and they have also been linked with former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

Niclas Fullkrug and Jarrod Bowen led the line against the Black Cats. However, West Ham need an upgrade on Fullkrug, and Sorloth fits the bill.

Results are needed when they take on Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest in the next three games.

A midfield signing and another striker could be the solution for the Hammers, and the chance to bring Sorloth to England is too good to miss.
