Former Manchester United duo Gary Neville and Ashley Young slammed Manchester United’s ‘disgusting performance’ in their 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham.

It was United’s fourth 3-0 home defeat within the last year, which was compounded by Bruno Fernandes’ red card – pilling pressure on manager Erik ten Hag.

Tottenham were excellent value for their convincing victory but the manner of United’s tepid display left both Young and Neville flabbergasted.

“In the first half they have put in their worst performance,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“It was an absolutely disgusting performance. in the first half in effort, in quality – in everything you’d want from a football team.

“There are a lot of questions to answer. for that group and the manager.”

Former United full-back Young was equally as critical, slamming the seeming lack of effort.

“No effort, no workrate. No running. Everything seemed disjointed,” he added.

“No one wanted to take the ball or create anything. Everything was bad from start to finish.

“Tottenham were so comfortable. United didn’t do anything. It looked like Tottenham were the home team.”
