One former Chelsea director who we don’t hear too much from these days has spoken out about one thing in particular today, and many fans will be pleased to hear from them.

Chelsea of course are all change now with new owners and new directors in the board room, but it wasn’t long ago when we were in the very successful Roman Abramovich era.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea had big chance to sign rising England star but had reservations, and so did he!

That all came to an end when the Russian was sanctioned and forced to sell the club, and then in came Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, and their associates to take over custodianship of club.

One of Abramovich’s most trusted associates was Marina Granovskaia, who Roman allowed to be the club director and be in charge of the day to day running of the club, transfers, contracts, and everything else in between.

She was super important at the club but soon left her role after the new owners came in and wanted to implement their own staff.

Marina speaks

It might not be directly Chelsea related, but there is a Chelsea connection to Marina’s post above, which is her first public words on anything football or Chelsea related for a long time, showing her clear love of Tuchel and her support she has/had for him.

Thomas certainly does know trophies, having won the Champions League with Chelsea and has been a success elsewhere too. He knows how to win in knockout football as well, which is vital for this role. And he is a natural born winner. What is not to love?

And I also agree with Marina’s last comment, the next World Cup HAS just got a heck of a lot more exciting. I think many England fans lost their love of the national side a bit under Gareth Southgate and became frustrated with how he setup. That will change under Tuchel I am sure.
