Tierney has not played since picking up a hamstring injury at Euro 2024
Kieran Tierney has returned to first-team training at Arsenal, as he looks to put his injury problems behind him.
The left-back has not played a single minute this season, having been on the sidelines since he suffered a serious hamstring injury while playing for Scotland at Euro 2024 in the summer.
Before that setback, it had seemed likely that Tierney would leave Arsenal before the end of the transfer window, having spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad and seemingly not been in Mikel Arteta’s plans.
However, the injury derailed any plans to secure a move and the 27-year-old has instead spent the first few months of the season on a slow road to recovery in north London.
He has almost completed that particularly journey, with Tierney taking to Instagram on Thursday to post pictures of him alongside the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Oleksandr Zinchenko in training.

It remains to be seen whether Arteta chooses to use Tierney when he does return to full fitness, but speaking before his side’s Carabao Cup win over Preston at the end of last month, the Arsenal boss provided a positive update.
"I think he’s quite close, he looks good, really sharp,” he said.
“He hasn’t trained with the team yet, hopefully, he can do that in the next week or two."
Tierney was earlier this season named in the club’s squad for both the Premier League and Champions League, making him eligible to feature in the coming weeks.
He could also potentially play some part in Arsenal’s Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Crystal Palace next month.
