Bronx Bhoys CSC

Founded in 2001 by Martin Stewart and Scotch Eddie O’Donnell. The reason it was started was because there was a Yonkers CSC, and their treasurer was handling the money like it was his own. Members gave $100 each to start the club. Over the years, they have been based in The Well, which was renamed The Celtic House, Ireland’s 32, and their current premises, The Whistlin’ Donkey.

When Martin and Scotch Eddie left to go and live in Ireland, Chas Duffy took over the club at The Celtic House. He also left to live in Ireland, and the club was dying. A few members went to the New Orleans CSC Convention in 2014, and they decided to keep the club alive, so they moved to Ireland’s 32 and set up a new committee comprising of Martin Gryphon as president, Brock McVeigh as vice president, and Joe McGeachy as treasurer. They moved to The Whistlin’ Donkey for the 2017–2018 season.

In 2009, there was a Celtic dinner dance in New York City for all CSCs in New York and New Jersey. Billy McNeill, Bertie Auld, and Tommy Gemmell were the guests, so they came up on Sunday afternoon to the Bronx club, and Billy McNeill cut the ribbon to open The Celtic House.

Charlie and the Bhoys played that day too. Tom Boyd and his dad, Tom Sr., came up to watch a Motherwell game in 2009. They also had Albert Kidd come to the club in 2011. Eight members went to Seville, and they also ran a bus to see Celtic vs. Real Madrid in Philadelphia in 2012.

Since 2020, the club has started taking club trips to Glasgow to watch games. They had four members who went to see the game against Real Madrid. The club members all go to all the Celtic conventions in Las Vegas.
