Milan target Paulo Fonseca denies he has reached an agreement with Olympique Marseille and insists he will decide on his future at the end of the season.

Fonseca, a former Roma coach, is a candidate for the Milan job in 2024-25 given that the Rossoneri are expected to part ways with Stefano Pioli.

Fonseca is one of the main options, according to several sources, even though the Rossoneri’s priority appears to be Sergio Conceiçao.

Reports in France and Italy claim Fonseca has reached an agreement with Lille domestic rivals Olympique Marseille, but the Portuguese coach denied it during a press conference on Saturday.

“What was released yesterday is not true. I don’t know who spoke, but it’s not true,” he said as quoted lepetitlillois.

“I don’t have an agreement with another club. I am totally focused on our last two matches. I will decide after these two matches. Today, I don’t want to talk about all that. I want to think of Nantes and Nice. At the moment, everything is possible.”

Fonseca’s deal with Lille expires in June so, on paper, he is contractually available for the Milan job.

Another Portuguese candidate for the Serie A giants, Conceiçao, also spoke to reporters on Saturday, saying that he is not considering leaving Porto, with whom he has recently signed a contract extension until June 2028.
