Fonseca: ‘Cagliari very different to Real Madrid, Milan faith in Camarda’ | OneFootball

Paulo Fonseca explains why he has ‘total faith’ in teenage sensation Francesco Camarda and warns Milan that Cagliari require ‘a very different approach’ to Real Madrid.

“We talked a lot about the importance of this match, because it will be very different to Real Madrid,” Fonseca told DAZN.

“This means it is dangerous, as we are coming off a good performance in Madrid, so if we do not have the right attitude, I think it will be tough. Cagliari are a very aggressive side, they man-mark and we must understand that it is a very different approach.”

Inter and Napoli go head-to-head tomorrow evening and the Atalanta 3-0 victory at the Stadio San Paolo has blown the Scudetto race wide open again building up to the break for international duty.

“We need this match to go our way so we don’t get left behind. It is true that there are many points up for grabs, but we don’t want to drop any more than we already have,” added Fonseca.

“The break for international duty is not positive for the club, because we only have four or five players left to train with, but it is always good for the players themselves.”

Camarda is given his first Serie A start at the age of 16 years and 244 days, so did Fonseca have to give the teenager any particular pep talk?

“I didn’t need to give him any special advice. Camarda is mentally strong, he has his head on his shoulders, is very professional and positive. I just told him to do what he does. He’s very intelligent, works hard for the team and I have total faith in him.”
