Brazilian midfielder Andre won't leave Fluminense until the end of his club's domestic season in December, despite links to the Premier League.

22-year-old Andre is among the many, many names linked with a move to Liverpool as part of the summer rebuild, though it is Fulham who are widely reported to be the frontrunners for his signature.

Football Transfers reports that Fluminense are willing to listen to offers for Andre, but will not let their midfielder leave until the end of the Brazilian Serie A season, which finishes in December.

The report adds that Liverpool are among 'a number' of Premier League sides to have made an initial approach, while Fluminense want €25m (£21.5m) for 80% of Andre’s economic rights as well as future add-ons. Regardless of whether any club matches that valuation, however, Fluminense are not considering a sale during this transfer window.

Andre was in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A team of the year for 2022 and made his debut for the Brazilian national team earlier this year, attracting interest from Europe.

Fulham reportedly failed to get a deal for the young holding midfielder over the line in January, while 90min reported that Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Tottenham — as well as Liverpool — had all spoken with the player's representatives.

Marco Silva's side may need to strengthen in midfield this window, following a shoulder injury to Joao Palhinha. The Portuguese was another player named on Liverpool's long-list to replace Fabinho, but a possible shoulder dislocation suffered in pre-season has made a move much less likely.

Instead, the Reds seem to be pushing forward with a move for Southampton's Romeo Lavia, with reports on Tuesday suggesting Jurgen Klopp and the hierarchy are ready to submit a £35m opening bid.

At least one more midfield arrival is expected at Liverpool this summer. Speaking to the club's official We Are Liverpool podcast last week, Klopp confirmed his transfer intentions and promised fans more new signings before the start of the Premier League season on 13 August.

He said: “[There are] Still around three-four weeks until the first game of the season, a few things have to happen until then. Definitely. Transfer market-wise as well, that’s clear now. “It will happen and we will have a good team.”
