Florent Malouda believes that it would have been ‘perfect’ for Florian Wirtz to move to a club like Newcastle United, rather than Liverpool.

The former Chelsea and France star saying that he thinks; “A team that is on the rise…A team that wants to take that step up…”, would have been a better destination for the German international.

Malouda even claiming Tottenham would have been a better fit for Wirtz.

As to how he sees the top end of the Premier League working out, Florent Malouda would love to see Chelsea challenging at the very top.

However, the one-time France winger thinks the reality is; “I put Liverpool and Manchester City in the top two and then Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle in the level below.”

“I want Chelsea to be able to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City, but there is a difference in mindset.

“There is a difference in mindset and how the club will be able to compete in every competition. Chelsea have been able to compete in one off games with the top teams, but not in the long run. They have wasted too many points and that’s the big difference.

“The difference is in the squad and the competition within the squad, injuries also play a part, but there are a lot of questions about Mikel Arteta’s ability to win trophies with Arsenal and that is mindset.

“I put Liverpool and Manchester City in the top two and then Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle in the level below. A lot will depend on the transfer window and the choices that the clubs make.”
