According to a report from Fichajes, it has come to light that Real Madrid are stepping up the efforts to clear the left-back conundrum once and for all, and for that, Florentino Perez has decided to take the matters into his own hands.

The outlet mentions that the club president is personally leading the negotiations to bring Paris Saint-Germain full-back Nuno Mendes to the Spanish capital.

It is said that the deal is expected to cost Real Madrid as much as €70 million, but Perez is satisfied with the idea because he feels the Portuguese international is an appropriate match for the team’s future.

Real Madrid need a full-back

With Alphonso Davies deciding to stay at Bayern Munich, Real Madrid have shifted their attention in the direction of Mendes.

At just 22 years of age, Mendes has already established himself as a full-back of top quality.
