Florent Ghisolfi agrees to become Sunderland Technical Director | OneFootball

According to David Ornstein, Florent Ghisolfi has agreed to join Sunderland as their new technical director following the club’s promotion to the Premier League. The Frenchman has left his former role of technical director at AS Roma in order to take on the challenge at the newly promoted side.

Ghisolfi was tracked by four other clubs before agreeing to join the Black Cats. Foot Mercato understands Juventus, SC Neom and Fiorentina all showed an interest in appointing the director following his departure from the Italian capital. However, it is Sunderland that have acted quickest and been able to secure the services of the Frenchman at a board level.

Signing in the coming days

The former Lens sporting director is set to touch down in the North East of England in the coming days before beginning his new role. His appointment is not set to affect the future of sporting director Kristjaan Speakman.
