Real Madrid played out a draw with Atletico Madrid last night, a favourable outcome for Barcelona in the race for the league title.

Nevertheless, the focus in the Real Madrid camp will immediately shift to Tuesday night’s big encounter against Manchester City in the first leg of the knockout playoffs.

Real Madrid are heading into this home affair with a series of injuries and things could get worse as several of their players are running on thin ice.

Five Real Madrid players at risk of suspension

Indeed, five Real Madrid are running the risk of suspension in the second leg of the Manchester City clash heading into this home tie.

These players in question include Jude Bellingham, Luka Modric, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Endrick, with all of them picking up two yellow cards so far this season.

Even Carlo Ancelotti could risk suspension if he picks up another booking on Tuesday against Man City.

While Endrick is not a prominent member of the starting eleven, a potential booking for Bellingham could be catastrophic for Real Madrid.

The Englishman is a vital cog in Real Madrid’s midfield and his creative services could be integral in breaking down the Man City defence in the second leg.

Things could get even worse if either Camavinga or Tchouameni pick up bookings on Tuesday.

That is because the French duo has been trained in defensive roles, in order to combat Real Madrid’s ongoing injury crisis.

If either of them pick up a booking, Carlo Ancelotti will have to deal with even fewer options in defence. It must be noted that the Real Madrid manager is currently without the services of Eder Militao, David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger and Dani Carvajal due to injuries.
