The Magpies say the highly rated striker is not for sale. However, with Isak actively pushing for an exit, a summer move has become a possibility.
Here are five potential destinations for the Sweden international.
Liverpool expressed their interest in doing a deal in the region of £120 million for Isak. But with Newcastle adamant the player was not for sale, the Reds did not submit a formal bid.
Liverpool have since signed Hugo Ekitike for a fee worth up to £79m. A significant outlay on another striker is unlikely, but a move for Isak could become feasible if they sell Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.
Arsenal were linked with an interest in Isak, but they shifted their focus to Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres after being told the player is not for sale.
The Gunners are on the verge of completing a move for Gyokeres for around £63.8m. They are unlikely to move for Isak if the deal is completed.
The Saudi Pro League (SPL) club can afford Isak, but it is debatable whether he will want to move to the Middle East.
The Sweden international could secure a move to any elite European club. Moving to the SPL would be a significant step down for the striker in a footballing sense.
Manchester United are in the market for a new centre-forward this summer. They have been linked with Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson, but Isak has not featured on their shortlist.
Given they have spent more than £130m on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo, a move for Isak looks highly unlikely at the moment.
Chelsea have already signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer. However, Jackson looks to be on his way out of the club amid interest from Man Utd.
The Blues have been credited with an interest in Isak, but they would have to make the Swedish footballer one of their highest earners. A deal looks unlikely.
